Today, I am tell you the tale of a young girl, who came to Bloggy-wood, with a heart full of hope and eyes full of dreams. She never thought even a single person would turn up to watch her movies, let alone appreciate it. So imagine her surprise when she found that she had been nominated… not once, not twice, but thrice (yes, thrice!) for the amazing Liebster Award!!
Well, yes, you guessed it right, the not-so-little girl is me. I know it’s no big deal, and the award seems to be flying around like a Frisbee on a beach, but I still am thrilled and honored. I still can’t believe that people are actually thinking of me, and that I actually do have followers now. Anyhoo, coming back to the topic at hand… Last week I was nominated by 3 of my most amazing blogger-friends (in order), the ever-encouraging Tracey Rains, the kind-and-helpful Anand and the young-and-bright-and-chirpy Kate. I thank you all and hereby, I graciously and gleefully accept your nominations. *dramatic bow*
So, we all know now that the word “Liebster” is actually a German word which means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, etc., and is given to new bloggers as a sign of appreciation.
I was very interested to know how the Award came into being, and I went and asked my know-it-all bff, Google, and it gave me a ton of answers. I found this blog on the origins of the Liebster Award, and I found it pretty interesting.
Okay, if you are nominated, there are certain Rules (as stated below) which you have to follow.
RULES
- Once you are nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
- Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post too.
- Nominate 5 -10 other bloggers who you feel are worthy of this award. Let them know they have been nominated by commenting on one of their posts. You can also nominate the person who nominated you.
- Ensure all of these bloggers have less than 200 followers.
- Answer the eleven questions asked to you by the person who nominated you, and make eleven questions of your own for your nominees or you may use the same questions.
- Lastly, COPY these rules in the post.
MY ANSWERS
I will answer the questions of each of my friends in the order in which I was nominated.
My Answers to Tracey’s Quiz:
- If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?
Australia. I want to go scuba-diving in the Great Barrier Reef. - What do you like about your hometown?
The people… Everyone is so genuine.
- What is your favorite meal?
Spaghetti with meatballs. Or, some lentil soup with fried potatoes. Yumm!
- What’s your least favorite chore to do at home?
I hate chores of any kind, but I don’t mind arranging my books and cleaning the bookshelves, so I guess that would be my favourite. - What’s your favorite book?
Apart from A Song of Ice and Fire series (which is my current favourite), my other favourite is Running in Heels by Anna Maxted. It’s a chicklit novel, and for some reason I connected with it and it helped me overcome a great period of crisis in my life. So, that will always stay my favourite. - What is your most unusual or unexpected talent?
I can meow like a cat, and it is good enough to even confuse cats! *Meow*
- What’s your favorite animal and why?
Horses! I just love them!
- Who is your greatest hero or inspirational figure?
I would say it’s my mother. She is a woman who has never backed down from voicing her opinions, is ever-optimistic of life and has tremendous courage to tackle any adversity that may rise. Though we have a love-hate relationship, and we are as different as the two poles, I love her and admire her strength.
- What was your favorite game or toy as a child?
It was football. Lol
- What’s your favorite beverage?
Lemonade! Nothing feels better than drinking a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day, and trust me, summers are hot here.
My Answers to Anand’s Quiz:
- What is life according to you?
Life is a one-time opportunity to find out who you are, to be who you are and to realize your dreams and see the world and learn and grow.
- What is your goal or mission in life, if any.
I want to see the entire world, especially the parts which are normally ignored. And not only see it all, I want to experience the whole world, the diverse cultures and stuff, because travelling is not just seeing. It is so much more than that. To me, travelling is not just a week long holiday at a place where you just hop around, and see all the local tourist attractions. No. Travelling is exploring and learning and absorbing.
- What is your favorite film(s)?
I really don’t have any favourites. I don’t even watch a lot of movies.
- What quality you like most about yourself?
My zest for life! And the ability to see some good in everyone.
- Who are your heroes or role models?
My mother and every traveller who is travelling around the world and taking it all in.
- Which is your dream destination?
It’s a difficult question for me to answer. I want to see and experience the whole world. I don’t have a particular “dream” destination. The whole “world” is my dream and my destination (if that makes any sense).
- What do you prefer in life Peace or Success. Are they different for you. Why?
To me Freedom is everything. Freedom is Peace and Freedom is Success.
- What are your hobbies?
Reading, playing computer games, cooking, astrology, exploring unknown places, travelling (though that’s more than a hobby) and now, blogging as well. Haha
- Do you feel good about yourself, people around you and life in general?
Oh yes.. Life is goooooooood. 🙂 As I have stated before, I love living! - What is the importance of gratitude according to you, if any?
Gratitude is important. Without gratitude, humanity will cease to exist.
My Answers to Geek Kate’s Quiz:
- What do you like about your hometown?
The people – Everyone is so genuine. - Do you believe that music is essential in our lives?
Definitely yes! Music brings peace and serenity to the troubled soul, heals the wounded, inspires happiness and rejuvenates the soul. - What does happiness mean to you?
A mental or emotional state which lets you be at ease with yourself and the world and feel good about living. - If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleporting! I want to travel and see the whole world. ‘nuf said! - Do you believe in fate? Why or why not?Not really. I believe we all have multiple fates, multiple possibilities. Where we end up is a result of our choices. If we had chosen something different, we would have ended up elsewhere, resulting in a different fate. So ultimately it’s all about our choices. Nothing more, nothing less.
- What is your favorite movie soundtrack? This is my current favorite – Best Luck by EXO (Chen). Its from a Korean Drama, It’s Okay, That’s Love (also one of the best dramas I have seen till date).
- What are 5 things that would be on your bucket list? Have you done them? Why are those things on your bucket list?
– Eat alone at a grand restaurant (haha! this totally scares me out)
– Chase a tornado (we do not get tornadoes in my country, so can’t do here)
– Scuba-dive in the Great Barrier Reef (because I love the underwater life)
– Watch the magnificent Aurora Borealis live (because that’s an epic thing to do)
– Master Astrology (I am learning, but I am merely a beginner) - What is your favorite video game? Why?
I have multiple favorites. Can’t choose one. Assassin’s Creed, Farcry 3, Sims 2 and Sims 3 (I wish it crashed a little less, but oh well).. - What is your favorite quality about yourself?
My zest for life! And the ability to see some good in everyone. - What is a dream of yours that you are working towards? Does anyone else know about it?
To become a full time traveller/ explorer of the world, and write about it. Yeah, my boyfriend and my friends know about it. Parents don’t though. - How do you try to put a little heart into everything you do? Do you think it’s important to do so?
By giving it my 100%.
Okay, answering… all done. Thank you for the questions. I really enjoyed answering those..
MY NOMINEES
And my nominees are……
*drumroll*
- Fugitive Umbrellas – The first blog which sprang to my mind. A self-taught astrologer who blogs about, well, astrology. She can explain even the toughest of astrological concept so easily that you are left wondering why you hadn’t understood that before. Her writing is so captivating that I once (almost) missed my stop. True story!
- Independent Couple – A Slovakcouple who just uprooted their lives and moved to New Zealand. I admire their courage. They face enough hardships in their day-to-d
ay lives, they could definitely do with some love. Truly inspirational. - MARIA… MARIA… – A travel-addict who wants to become a philanthropist one day… She blogs about her amazing trips along with some helpful tips. I love her passion for travel.
- Ivan Proust – Ivan (that is not his real name, btw) blogs about Cryptology, the German language, writes short poems from time to time and shares interesting tidbits. It’s one of those blogs where you can always find something interesting.
- TheTurtleWay – A Turtle with a great sense of humour, blogging at her own pace, and sharing lots of Turtle Hugs and Turtle Love and spreading the Turtle Joy! Her, because, we could all slow down for a while and savour life The Turtle Way.

Hi Ananya! I loved reading your responses to everyone’s questions. Teleportation would be such an amazing superpower to have, I could definitely use that here soon with school! It would save me my little over an hour commute to school! In regards to you wanting to chase a tornado someday… I have never seen tornados but last year I drove through tornado weather on my way to New York and let me tell you, that is some scary sh*t. SCARY! You can check it out here to see if you are still interested in chasing one someday 😛
Congratulations on your three nominations, you totally deserve them!
❤ and harp strings,
Kate

Ooooohh, Awesome! I would check it out.
I have always loved storms. For some weird reason, raging storms make me feel so alive. When everyone would be running to take shelter, I would be standing and enjoying the weather! (ooh! Did I just create a rhyme?)
I hope you are enjoying school!

School doesn’t start until the 31st but I’m sure I will! I love a good storm but driving in tornado weather is not on the top of my “Do It Again” list! It was really dangerous, and scary!

[Left hemisphere functioning high.]
*Dramatic Bow back to you*
{ You’ve written this post in a hurry! }
““Liebster” is actually a German word which means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, etc.”
[ Hahahaha really? Or did you just make this up? Thanks 🙂 ]
“Today, I am tell you the tale”
[ going ]
“a single audience”
[ not sure about the usage of ‘audience.’ ]
” that people are actually think ”
[thinking?]
Now as your personal details begin my right brain starts taking over 🙂
Very interesting indeed. Albeit you answered my dream destination as “entire world.” Whereas Tracey’s as “Australia Great Barrier Reef.” [ I meant the place where you want to travel too 🙂 ]
Is Calcutta your hometown?
You don’t have time now Ananya, else I would have loved discussing Astrology. I know you do Western and I don’t want to convert you. No, I really don’t. But I would have loved to tell you why Western system is erroneous. Ptolemy committed an error and it didn’t get caught up until 20th century. Now many westerners are learning Vedic and finding it accurate for predictions.
Very dramatic post. I hope my response didn’t bore you and you read every word of it. 🙂
LOL 😀 😀
Stay blessed 🙂

Ahhh.. You caught me, I did write this post in a hurry. I hope I didn’t offend you. This recognition means a lot to me, but to be honest, more than anything I was a little concerned about the length of the post. I did edit and try to make it as concise as possible. 😛
Lol, no, I didn’t make up the German word part. I did a bit of Google search, and that’s what Google whispered into my ears.
Ahhh.. thank you for proofreading my blog post! I shall correct them.
Next… Ahh, yeah, but I thought your question was about that one “dream” destination. Australia is not my dream destination, in fact, I don’t think I can say any place is. It is just that Australia is some place where I would choose to go to now (if given the choice) so that I can get the taste of adventure which my old(er) body and soul might not be able to handle (I don’t know if that makes any sense).. Ah.. well..
Moving on… No, Calcutta isn’t my hometown. Why did you ask that? Are you from Calcutta?
Initially I was into Vedic Astrology, and when you say “erroneous” I presume you are referring to the time lapse (which Western doesn’t take into account)? But there are some facets of Vedic astrology which I did not like, so I moved on to Western and found that it’s more to my liking. Maybe we should have discussion on this topic later. I would love to hear (read) your views. 😀
And thanks again, for the nomination and for proof reading. haha
P.S.: I updated my post. 😀

Glad you considered my suggestion 🙂
I thought you were from Calcutta. Yes because of ‘time lapse.’ Though it’s more intuitive and whatever comes out right is because of Astrologer’s intuition mostly–yes would like to discuss 🙂
Thanks for kind words again 🙂
